Buttoning up for the season

Nearly everything is out of the garden, and most of the produce is put up for long term storage. Hopefully the garlic will be planted this weekend. We’re trying two softneck varieties  – Lorz Italian and Inchelium Red. Softneck garlic usually stores better than hardneck (the kind with flower scapes) but there aren’t as many to choose from.

We had a great time listening to Scottish music down at the Skagit River Brewery recently, and are looking forward to the next session. And speaking of brewing, both of the single-malt fresh-hopped ales are in the bottle. A couple more weeks and it will be time to taste them.
