…just isn’t how we do it at Seven Trees. We’re planning/hoping to enjoy a few recreational excursions this summer to balance out the hours of critter care, weeding, watering, planting & building currently underway.
After celebrating our birthdays the weekend of July 4th, we’ll be looking forward to attending the Skagit Valley Highland Games on July 10th.
Then we have to wait an entire month for our next bout of fun – the Battle of Hovander Farm – a weekend of civil war reenacting at Hovander Homestead park in Ferndale, WA on August 6 & 7.
Soon after that comes the NW Washington Fair in Lynden. Animals to see, carnival rides, and lots of bad-for-you fair food. Fun!
The end of August brings the Washington Draft Horse & Mule Extravaganza at the Monroe fairgrounds. We haven’t gotten around to checking into this group, and hopefully this show will give us a chance to learn more about them.
The month of September could wind up with an evening sail on the Schooner Zodiac. We’re still waiting to hear if there is space available on the excursion we want.
When the cat’s in the hay, the mice will play. Newt keeps an eye on summer doings from her vantage point in the hay mow.
Lucky & Mark seem to like spending warm afternoons on the back porch, watching hummingbirds, squirrels, dogs, and even Katie meandering by as she helps with lawn mowing.
